North of England Activities & Training (NEAT) is a volunteer-led charity based in Bradford.
We occasionally operate in other areas across the north of England.

Training

...

We train people to navigate, so that they can enjoy the countryside and gain the health benefits

...

We introduce people to walks in local areas, so that they can go there again independently

...

We take groups to areas farther away, such as Snowdonia and the Lake District, to experience the scenery and learn mountaineering skills

We have arranged training in:

  • First Aid
  • Minibus Driving
  • Walk Leadership (NHS Walk Leader Level 2)
  • British Sign Language
  • Stress Management
  • Basic Youth Work Skills
  • Counselling
  • Fund-raising

NEAT trains people to

  • appreciate and look after natureā€¦
  • find accessible routes suitable for all abilitiesā€¦

And we always provide high quality outdoor clothing and equipment.

Volunteering

If you share our support for giving young people things to do outside school and would like to volunteer, please get in touch.

We can arrange a free DBS check and basic safeguarding training. There is always a need for volunteers with specialist skills, such as outdoor leadership, First Aid, BSL communication or Minibus driving.
